Do you really think YOU have control over your health?

Over the years I have found the majority of folks seem pretty reliant on someone else to declare their health for them. Whether it's good or bad, fixable or 'unsure'. In some instances it can be pretty unsettling! And yet we continue to leave our health in someone else's hands.

Do not for a minute think that seeing your doctor or health professional is unnecessary. They are here to help and guide us on our path. But I think many of us have forgotten our own doctor 'within'. We all have it, regardless of your inner beliefs. It's in there and part of us!

I have a perfect example of how this may play out. You go to the doctor with complaints of heartburn and stomach upset. Tests and /or examination indicate GERD or acid reflux. Your doctor may discuss diet (some do, some don't) and various prescriptions or over the counter options, and off you go. For many this is it. Many start relying on this or that product or prescription, helping control symptoms, but may start to realize you are relying on it to get through the day! Working in a supplement store 70% of folks I see with recommendations from their doctor . They come with a note of a recommended supplement etc. Sometimes I need clarification and may ask them "what will you be using this for?" Many look at me blankly(!) or state, "I'm not sure, we talked about alot of stuff".

Yikes! I try to educate folks in the short time they are there, but many leave not caring and just 'do' what they are told. I suggest going online to read up on it or the library etc. SOMETHING!. Especially as so much is fixable and preventable.

You do have a built in navigation system...your own GPS. That little inner voice, or nudge we get when we really pay attentionn to how something feels to us. PAY attention. Ask questions, educate and above all - start 'expecting' more for yourself, your health and overall experience. There is an abundance of help, information, alternatives, or tried and true treatments that help. Keep an open mind, and keep your expectations ABOVE the norm. Positive results to follow.
